Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Cobras Cheerleading?

Longview Cobras Cheerleading is part of LCYF. Our organization is 100% driven by volunteers and parents who are passionate about providing a great experience for boys and girls throughout Longview and Cowlitz/Clark County who are interested in football and cheer.

We welcome and encourage children of all abilities to join us in cheering and supporting our Cobras youth football teams. We strive to develop a good cheer foundation in skills, technique, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

  • What does it cost to participate?

2025 cheer registration fee is $175 with an additional Uniform + Pom package.

    Two payment options are available:

    1. Registration + Uniform + Poms: $275
    2. Registration + Uniform only: $250 (Poms will be loaned by the league, returned at end of season).

Additionally, Parents/Athletes will need to purchase white athletic shoes for the season.

Returning 24' Cheerleaders: If you need only a portion of your unifrom replaced, options are available to purchase just the replacement piece, which can be specified during the registration process.

Longview Cobras wants to ensure that no player is turned away for financial reasons.  If you need financial assistance, please reach out for Sponsorship information. Any additional questions, please email longviewcobrascheer@gmail.com.

  • What does the registration fee include?

Cheer registration pays for facility rental, insurance, and safety training for coaches as well as cheer sweatshirt and bag for cheerleaders. The uniform fee includes a full cheer uniform (shell, skirt, bodyliner, and shorts) with a bow.

Participants on scholarship must participate in all fundraising efforts to help make the program more sustainable and keep costs as low as possible. Those on scholarships will be asked to return their uniform at the end of the season, unless cost is raised by cheerleader via fundraising.

  • When does the season start and how long is it?

The season commences in mid-August and extends through October.

  • When and where are practices?

Cheer practice schedules will be dependent on the team. Practice is 60 minutes, 2 nights a week from 5:30-6:30pm.

    Practices begin mid-August each season.

    • JV practices: Wednesday and Friday
    • Varsity practices: Tuesday and Thursday

Practice will be held locally in Longview. Exact location is shared with parents of cheerleaders prior to season start.

Indoor practices are closed practices, not available to spectators.

  • When do the games begin and when will we know our schedule?

We cheer for our Longview Cobras football players every Saturday, starting early September, at different times throughout the day.

Game times may range from as early as 9 am to as late as 8 pm.

Games will take place at various league fields across Cowlitz/Clark County: Longview Memorial Stadium, Schroeder Field (Kelso), Castle Rock High School, Kalama High School, Woodland High School, and LaCenter High School.

The regular season schedules are released the week before the first football game.
